HC Deb 13 November 1929 vol 231 c2049W
Mr. SMITHERS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will give the House the names of those Dominion Governments who have replied to the Government's communication with regard to the resumption of diplomatic relations with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and those who have not replied; and will he state whether they agreed or disagreed with the Government's proposals?

Mr. HENDERSON

As I stated in the course of the Debate of the 5th November, His Majesty's Governments in the Dominions were kept fully informed of the proposals of His Majesty's Government in this country and of the course of the negotiations, and none of them at any time expressed dissent from the general policy pursued. They have all, moreover, expressed their readiness to enter into reciprocal undertakings with regard to propaganda similar to that of His Majesty's Government in this country.
