§ Miss BONDFIELDProvisional approval for water works estimated to cost £5,000,000 was notified to the Manchester Corporation on the 16th October. The amount of the grant cannot accurately be calculated at this stage but it will take the form of payment of 100 per cent. of the interest on loans raised to meet approved expenditure during the period of construction and 50 per cent. of interest thereafter for a further period not exceeding in all 15 years in respect of each loan.
