HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 c1272W
Colonel HOWARD-BURY

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that in Paris during certain hours of the night no motor horns are allowed to be sounded; and whether he will adopt and put in force a similar order in the London Metropolitan area?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

Although traffic conditions in London differ materially from those prevailing in Paris, I am having inquiries made with a view to ascertaining whether the principle adopted in Paris of prohibiting the sounding of motor horns during certain hours of the night in certain parts of the city would be suitable for experimental trial in some portion of the Metropolitan area.
