HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 cc1277-8W
Sir G. PENNY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that women have displaced men in so many occupations, resulting in more men applying for situations in domestic service, he will consider the advisability of waiving the payment of the male-servant licence in such cases?

Mr. SNOWDEN

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on the 15th July last to a similar question by the hon. Member for Gillingham (Sir R. Gower), to which I have nothing to add.
