HC Deb 06 November 1929 vol 231 c1049W
Mr. MILLS

asked the Minister of Transport whether any representations have been made as to the inadequacy of the Woolwich ferry to deal with the growing volume of traffic; and whether he will consider the suggested high level bridge from Shooters' Hill to East Ham in this problem?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

The answer to the first part of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative. I understand that the London County Council propose to augment the service by the addition of a third vessel now under construction. In reply to the last part of the question, I am unable to add anything to the reply I gave on the 4th November to a similar question by the Member for West Woolwich (Sir K. Wood), a copy of which I am sending to my hon. Friend.
