HC Deb 06 November 1929 vol 231 cc1049-50W
Mr. MILLS

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that Eltham and Weil Hall station on the Southern Railway, which now handles 4,000 passengers, per day as compared with 150 in 1909, has no waiting-room accommodation or con- venience of any kind on the down platform and no extra exits to cope with the growth of the community; and if he will inquire into the matter?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

I am informed by the Railway Company that there is a waiting-room, though no convenience, on the down platform at this station, and that in such cases, where the principal traffic is to and from London, it is not always considered necessary to provide such facilities on the down platform. The company further state that they have already considered various schemes for providing an exit from this platform, and that the question, which presents some difficulties, is now under their consideration.
