HC Deb 05 November 1929 vol 231 cc843-4W
Mr. BEAUMONT

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in reference to the deer forest of Luskentyre, in the Isle of Harris, which has been acquired by compulsory purchase for conversion into small holdings, the suitability of the ground for small holdings has been considered; and whether the holdings are to be given to land raiders recently released from prison.

Mr. ADAMSON

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, the holders have not yet been selected, but I propose to consider each application on its merits including those from the men referred to.
