HC Deb 05 November 1929 vol 231 c853W
Sir R. HAMILTON

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is prepared to institute an inquiry into postal arrangements in the rural areas of Scotland, with a view to ascertaining, with the aid of local experience, in what directions required improvements could be effected in the existing services without incurring a largely increased expenditure of public funds?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

The postal arrangements in the rural areas of Scotland are frequently reviewed with the object of giving such improved facilities as can be justified, and I do not think there is scope for a special general inquiry such as the hon. Member suggests.
