asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, whether he can state the total acreage planted with hard woods and soft woods, respectively, during each of the last five years either by the Commissioners or otherwise?

The total acreage planted by the Forestry Commissioners with hard woods and soft woods, respectively, during each of the last five years is as set out in the following table. They have no definite data, except as regards grants schemes, of the acreage of either hardwoods or softwoods planted by others.
