HC Deb 05 November 1929 vol 231 c852W
Mr. BOWER MAN

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that during the past 14 years the Deptford Borough Council has been endeavouring to secure better postal facilities, and particularly the provision of a branch office in a position near the centre of the borough, in order that its commercial needs might be more adequately met; and whether he will give early consideration to the matter, and also to the installation at all post offices in the borough of automatic stamp-vending machines?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

The question of providing a branch office' is already under consideration. The postal facilities generally at Deptford are not inferior to those in other comparable districts in London. Stamp-vending machines are already installed at some offices in the borough. Additional machines are on order and in this connection the claims of Deptford will be given due weight.
