HC Deb 17 July 1929 vol 230 cc455-6W
Sir C. CAYZER

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether all the paper used by the Stationery Office is made from pulp imported from overseas British territory or made in this country or is British Empire paper; and what is the proportion of used paper made from foreign imported pulp?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

The whole of the paper purchased by the Stationery Office is obtained from British mills, with the exception of certain special papers and cards which are not made at all in this country, and for which no satisfactory British substitute exists. Information is not available as to the original sources of the pulp used by the British mills from whom the purchases of paper are made.
