§ Sir A. KNOXasked the Minister of Health whether he will consider the case of a soldier who retired on pension before the War and volunteered five times for service in the Great War, but was rejected on account of deafness and varicose veins; whether he is aware that this ex-soldier is disqualified from drawing the old age pension in addition to his full Army pension; and whether he 1vill consider if he can be placed in the position of a soldier who served during the War?
§ Mr. GREENWOODThe fact that an ex-soldier is in receipt of an Army pension, whether in respect of service before or during the War, in no way affects his title to an old age pension under or by virtue of the Contributory Pensions Act, 1925. I am therefore not clear as to the nature of the difficulty to which the hon. Member refers, but if he will communicate to me any particular case he has in mind I will consider it.
