HC Deb 09 December 1929 vol 233 cc79-80W
Mr. GROVES

asked the Minister of Health why Mrs. Taylor, of 174, Chandos Road, Stratford, Case No. 969,093, has been refused an old age pension; and whether he will reinvestigate the details?

Mr. GREENWOOD

Following is the answer:

Mr. GREENWOOD

Mrs. Taylor's case has been fully investigated, but I regret to say that she cannot be granted an old age pension under the Contributory Pensions Act because she was not an insured person at the time she attained age 65. Mrs. Taylor was last employed in May, 1922, and it has not been established that the reason for her unemployment since that date was either inability to obtain employment or incapacity for work through illness.
