§ Mr. E. BROWNasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department as representing the First Commissioner of Works the reason for the delay in appointing ten temporary technical assistants to the posts of established technical assistants in the supplies division of His Majesty's Office of Works, as provided for in the reorganisation scheme of November, 1927; if he can now give a date on which these appointments will be made; and whether, in view of the delay, they will be antedated?
§ Sir V. HENDERSONOwing to disagreement on the Departmental Whitley Council as to the scale of salary appropriate to these posts, the Staff Side has intimated its desire to submit the matter to the Industrial Court, and terms of reference have been agreed. The appointments will be made as soon as possible after the issue of the award of the Court, which will, no doubt, deal with the question of antedating.
