HC Deb 20 November 1928 vol 222 cc1574-5W
Mr. RENNIE SMITH

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can furnish particulars of the administration of the Conscription Act in Kenya and the particulars of the number of Europeans who have refused compulsory military service?

Mr. AMERY

As regards the position generally, I am not able to add anything to the reply returned to the hon. Member for West Leicester (Mr. Pethick-Lawrence) on 12th November. As regards the second part of the question, I understand that the total number liable for training under the Ordinance would be between 5,000 and 6,000. I have no information as to the numbers who have re-fused to enrol.
