§ Commander BELLAIRSasked the President of the Board of Trade what countries outside and inside the British Empire have statutes against dumping; and whether those statutes in any case have precluded them from obtaining most-favoured-nation treatment?
§ Mr. HACKINGThere are legislative provisions against dumping in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Union of South Africa., and in the following foreign countries,1564W namely, Cuba, Japan, Portugal and the United States of America. These are the only cases of which I am aware, and I do not know of any case in which the existence of such statutory provisions has precluded the countries concerned from obtaining most-favoured-nation treatment for their own goods.
