HC Deb 19 November 1928 vol 222 c1399W
Sir B. FALLE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he is aware that Maltese officers' stewards and cooks are employed in His Majesty's Ship "Furious," Atlantic Fleet, although the Regulations state that Maltese ratings of this branch are only to be employed in ships serving on the Mediterranean Station; and will he inquire into the reasons for this?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

Maltese officers' stewards and cooks are not generally employed in ships in home waters, but there is no Regulation against it. Inquiry is being made as to the two Maltese ratings of this branch who are borne in "Furious."
