asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the number of bookmakers' certificates which have been cancelled for the 12 months ended to the last convenient date under orders of disqualification made by competent Courts under Section 17 (3) of the Finance Act, 1926; and the total number of certificates cancelled since the inception of this Act?

The numbers of orders for disqualification for holding a bookmaker's certificate made by competent Courts in the year ended 31st October, 1928, and in the period of two years ended on that date, were 69 and 97 respectively.
