HC Deb 15 November 1928 vol 222 cc1125-6W
Mr. ERSKINE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware of the state of the tax districts office in North Audley Street; and can he see his way to have a thorough inspection and report made in order that action may be taken both for the health and comfort of the staff and the convenience of the public?

Sir V. HENDERSON

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative; as regards the second part, steps have already been taken to relieve the congestion of the staff in these offices by acquiring new premises for one of the tax districts housed at present at North Audley Street. It is hoped that the removal of this district and the subsequent re-allocation of the accommodation at North Audley Street will be completed before the end of the year.
