HC Deb 15 November 1928 vol 222 c1101W
Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Postmaster-General if it is proposed to institute a person-to-person telephone service between this country and places in Europe; and, if so, upon what date and between what cities in Great Britain and Europe?

Viscount WOLMER

The Postmaster-General has proposed the admission of personal calls as soon as possible in all the Anglo-Continental telephone services without limitation to particular towns either in this country or abroad. Negotiations are proceeding with the Continental administrations, and accordingly I am not in a position yet to name a date.
