HC Deb 14 November 1928 vol 222 c900W
Mr. BUCHANAN

asked the Minister of Labour the number of persons who are now receiving training at Springburn, Glasgow; what number is the establishment capable of employing; and when it is proposed to bring the number up to its capacity?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

The Springburn Training Centre is equipped for 150 men at a time. There are 120 now in training, and the remainder will be admitted shortly. There is room in the centre for a larger number, and if the first complement succeed in obtaining employment to a satisfactory degree after training, I shall be prepared to consider enlarging the number.
