§ Mr. W. THORNEasked the Minister of Agriculture, if his attention has been called to the wholesale removal of shingle from the shore in low-lying land between Holland-on-Sea, near Clacton, and Frinton; that the shingle is practically cleared from the shore in places and it is possible that heavy seas will inundate many acres of land and flood the villages; and whether he will take any action in the matter.
Mr. GUINNESSMy attention has not been called to the removal of shingle from this part of the shore, but I am making inquiries from the Tendring Levels Commissioners of Sewers, within whose jurisdiction the land in question is understood to lie, and will communicate with the hon. Member.
