HC Deb 14 November 1928 vol 222 c919W
Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Minister of Agriculture, if his attention has been called to the wholesale removal of shingle from the shore in low-lying land between Holland-on-Sea, near Clacton, and Frinton; that the shingle is practically cleared from the shore in places and it is possible that heavy seas will inundate many acres of land and flood the villages; and whether he will take any action in the matter.

Mr. GUINNESS

My attention has not been called to the removal of shingle from this part of the shore, but I am making inquiries from the Tendring Levels Commissioners of Sewers, within whose jurisdiction the land in question is understood to lie, and will communicate with the hon. Member.
