HC Deb 14 November 1928 vol 222 cc904-5W
Sir B. PETO

asked the Attorney-General whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation to give effect to the draft convention of 1926, with regard to the immunity of States in respect of maritime property and the Report of the Committee on Crown Proceedings, 1927?

Mr. H. WILLIAMS

I have been asked to reply. The terms of the draft Convention to which my hon. Friend refers have not yet been finally settled, and it is therefore premature to consider the question of legislation. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of an answer given on 10th July, which contains some further information about this draft Convention. As regards the last part of the question, I am asked by the Attorney-General to refer to the reply which he gave on 12th November on this subject to the hon. Member for York (Sir J. Marriott).
