§ Mr. BUCHANANasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, if he is aware that the 518W office accommodation provided in Glasgow for the Scottish Board of Health continues to be overtaxed by persons applying for advice in relation to the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions and Health Insurance Acts; and that the office provided is very unhealthy; and if he will take steps to have this put right?
§ Sir V. HENDERSONThe First Commissioner is not aware of any serious congestion; he understands that the number of applicants for advice is diminishing. The provision of a district office at Kilmarnock, now under consideration, would afford relief to the offices in 250, St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, but this proposal is awaiting the reorganisation of the Scottish Board of Health. The First Commissioner is advised that from the health point of view the office is satisfactory.
