§ Sir H. JACKSONasked the Secretary of State for War if he will consider the repayment to W. A. Bridge, D.C.M., of 30A, Earlsfield Road, Wandsworth, and late lieutenant of the Cheshire Regiment, of arrears due to him under the Royal Warrant 572A from June, 1918, to June, 1923?
§ Major TRYONI have been asked to reply to this question. Cases of retirement in the circumstances of Mr. W. A. Bridge's case were not contemplated by the Article referred to. The benefits of the Article were, however, subsequently extended to cases of this kind, and they have been applied to Mr. Bridge, together with arrears to the fullest extent possible. I regret, therefore, that I am not in a position, as I have indicated in correspondence with my hon. Friend, to adopt the course proposed in this question.
