HC Deb 20 December 1928 vol 223 cc3266-7W
Mr. DAY

asked the Postmaster-General whether any deputations have been received or representations made to his Department regarding the dismissal of young women of the postal service who have become unmarried mothers; and whether, in view of the injustice that in many cases occurs, any decision has been come to by his Department with regard to this matter?

Viscount WOLMER

I recently received a deputation on this subject from the Union of Post Office Workers. I am not prepared to admit that injustice has been done in past cases; but the representation made by the deputation will be borne in mind in connection with any future action.
