HC Deb 19 December 1928 vol 223 cc3038-9W
Mr. JOHNSTON

asked the Home Secretary the number of jute factories and mills in Dundee to which the special orders regarding limewashing, etc., of 2nd November, 1903, 1st July, 1911, and 19th April, 1912, apply; and how many of such mills and factories have received exemption?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The inspector reports that there are two jute mills at Dundee which are exempted under the Order of 2nd November, 1903, so far as regards the parts of the works where jute yarn is treated with tar. There are no mills exempted under the Order of 1st July, 1911. The Order of 19th April, 1912, does not apply to jute mills.
