HC Deb 19 December 1928 vol 223 c3037W
Mr. D. GRENFELL

asked the Prime Minister, seeing that the joint deputation of owners and workmen's representatives, which approached him shortly before the relief to the coal industry was antedated to 1st December, agreed that relief must come from outside as they had reached the limits of sacrifice within the industry, whether he will make it a. condition that relief shall not be given if further wage reductions are enforced in any coalfield?

Commodore KING

I have been asked to reply, and I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave yesterday to the hon. Members for Aberdare (Mr. G. Hall) and Houghton-le-Spring (Mr. R. Richardson).
