asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the number of lieutenant- commanders and lieutenants promoted from mate who applied for the staff course, and the number selected?

Two lieutenant-commanders and lieutenants (ex-mate) remain on the list of candidates for consideration for selection for the Royal Naval Staff course, but no officer (ex-mate) has been selected for the next course.

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the number of lieutenants (ex-mate) who have applied for the next G, T, N, and A/S specialist courses; and the number selected for each course?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

Four lieutenants (ex-mate) have applied for the next gunnery specialist course and one has been selected. The same figures apply for the torpedo course. Four lieutenants (ex-mate) have applied for the next navigation specialist course, but a final selection has not yet been made. Two have applied for the next anti-submarine course, but no course will be held in 1929.
