HC Deb 10 December 1928 vol 223 cc1732-3W
Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, with a view to making available at the British Museum space for recent newspapers and periodicals, consideration can be given to the removal elsewhere of copies of comic songs, volumes of out-of-date fiction, back numbers of foreign periodical publications, obsolete scientific works, and other books for which there is little or no demand?

Mr. SAMUEL

This matter has been considered by the Trustees. The amount of space that would be made available by such removal would be inconsiderable, and would entail disproportionate inconvenience.
