HC Deb 07 December 1928 vol 223 c1567W
Mr. MARDY JONES

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware of the increase in the number of disabled miners who are being deprived of their legal rights to compensation benefits due to the failure of many colliery companies who have gone into liquidation in recent years to insure against their liabilities to their injured workmen under the Workmen's Compensation Acts; and will he undertake to remedy this grievance by legislation before the close of the present Parliament?

The PRIME MINISTER

I would refer the hon. Member to the answers given yesterday by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department. Inquiries are being made, but at present I can add nothing to those answers.
