HC Deb 04 December 1928 vol 223 c1040W
Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Minister of Transport the cost of reduction by 10 per cent. of the cost of railway freights on wheat, barley and oats?

Colonel ASHLEY

The figure is, approximately, £130,000 per annum.

Mr. LOUIS SMITH

asked the Minister of Transport when and where the question as to whether any particular works falls within the terms of the definition of Part II of the White Paper referring to the Railway Freights Rebate (Anticipation) Scheme will be determined under paragraph 8 of that scheme?

Colonel ASHLEY

As I informed my hon. Friend on 27th November, any question whether any particular works fall within the terms of the definition of iron and steel works in the scheme may be determined by me or by a person appointed by me. The answer to his present question must depend upon the circumstances of each case, as and when it arises.
