asked the Home Secretary how many factory inspectors and assistants were employed for each of the years 1925, 1926, and 1927, respectively?

The number of factory inspectors including the chief inspector and other inspectors at headquarters, and taking the number serving on the last day of each year, was 173 in 1925; 175 in 1926; and 178 in 1927. The number of assistants was 25 in 1925; 25 in 1926; and 23 in 1927. In addition, there were, in each of the three years, one senior inspector of textile particulars and four assistant inspectors of textile particulars.
