Mr. ROBINSONasked the Minister of Health if his attention has been drawn to the case of Mrs. J. Hayne, of 18, Dobbins Road, Cadoxton, Barry, whose husband died on the 5th December, 1927, after being in receipt of sick or disablement benefit under National Health Insurance from 11th April, 1925; whether he is aware that an inspector from his Department visited the widow on 1st January, 1928, and that since that date 1807W she has had no communication from the Insurance Department, and when the pension of this widow will be issued?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI am advised that the notice informing Mrs. Hayne that a pension had been awarded to her was issued on the 31st March. The delay in the settlement of the claim was in part due to difficulty in determining whether the only child was within the pensionable age, the registration of the birth at the proper time having apparently been omitted, and in part to difficulties connected with the insurance history of the deceased husband.
