HC Deb 24 November 1927 vol 210 cc2080-1W
Colonel DAY

asked the Postmaster-General the number of telephone kiosks that have been erected to the last con- venient date in the Metropolitan police area, and the average weekly amount of payments made by the public in each box?

Viscount WOLMER

I regret that statistics are not available in the form desired by the hon. Member. The number of kiosks in the London telephone area on the 18th November was 721. The gross weekly receipts from a kiosk vary from a few shillings to three or four pounds.
