§ Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAMThe total sum included in the Navy Estimates for current financial year for expenditure on hulls and machinery in ships (including armour and gun mountings) is £14,749,137. Of this total the sum which is included for contract work is £8,379,437, and for dockyard labour (direct charges only) the sum included is £4,525,700: while a sum of £1,844,000 is provided for the supply of materials to be used in the dockyard work.
