§ The PRIME MINISTERThe number of migrants who have been assisted under the Empire Settlement Act towards the cost of proceeding to their destination during the seven months ended 31st October, 1927, and the expenditure incurred by the respective Governments are approximately as follow:
children between the ages of 12 and 14 years. Children who have gone to Canada as members of families are not included.
In addition, 578 boys have gone to the Reception and Training Farm at Vimy Ridge, Ontario, the cost of which is shared between His Majesty's Government in Great Britain and the Ontario Government.
Boys who go out under this scheme travel free. In respect of children who go out in the care of voluntary societies a grant is made of 80 dollars per child (100 dollars if going to Western Canada) which covers the cost of the ocean passage and rail fare in Canada.
