Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe rateable value, for purposes of local rates, of all the rateable property in England and Wales was, according to the Valuation Lists in force in April, 1920, £236,024,438,. and, according to those in force in April,, 1926, £275,641,728. These totals include the annual value of property in the occupation of the Government in respect of which contributions in lieu of rates were paid.
