§ Colonel LANE FOXIt is necessary to preserve sufficient continuity in the form of the statistics to enable comparisons to be made. The present division of the coalfields for statistical purposes is considered by the Coal Advisory Committee to be the best which, within the above limits, can be devised for general use.
