HC Deb 02 June 1927 vol 207 c559W
Colonel DAY

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to the sentence by the Kenilworth magistrate of two months' imprisonment in the second division passed on Edward Erswell, aged 15, for breaking into a fog-man's hut and stealing detonators valued 8d.; whether he has received a petition signed by the townspeople of Leamington asking him to review all the circumstances of this sentence; and, in view of the age of Erswell, will he consider recommending his release?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS.

As I stated in reply to a question yesterday, inquiries are being made into this case.
