§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDI have been asked to reply. Statistics are not available regarding the number of persons now in receipt of unemployment benefit who have paid 30 unemployment insurance contributions, nor with regard to the number of persons receiving extended benefit. An inquiry made in March, 1926, showed that at that date 54 per cent. of the claims on which benefit was payable were authorised for standard benefit and 46 per cent. for extended benefit.
