HC Deb 16 February 1927 vol 202 c939W
Mr. GERALD HURST

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware of the memorandum submitted to the Lord Chancellor by the Association of British Chambers of Commerce as to the expense and delay involved in the present practice of issuing certificates and certified copies of probates to executors who are often obliged to register probates with a large number of limited companies; and if he can see his way to issue for 1s. per copy simple certificates of probate which limited companies can accept as conclusive evidence of title to shares for purposes of registration?

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL

I have been asked to reply. I understand that the questions raised by the hon. Member are receiving the consideration of the Lord Chancellor and the President of the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division.
