HC Deb 16 February 1927 vol 202 cc939-40W
Colonel DAY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the fact that a large proportion of the money that is staked on horse racing throughout the country has been escaping the Betting Duty through being staked with street bookmakers, he will consider amending the present legislation with a view to bringing bets made in this manner subject to the existing Regulations?

Mr. NcNEILL

I cannot add anything to the statements in regard to the scope of the Betting Duty which my right hon. Friend made whilst his proposals were before Parliament.
