HC Deb 20 December 1927 vol 212 c237W
Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether in view of the fact that the Birmingham Small Arms Company are proposing to close their works at Redditch, he can state the number of people who will be thereby thrown out of work?

Mr. BETTERTON

I have been asked to reply. In the event of the works being closed, about 1,300 workpeople would be affected, but I understand some of them would be offered employment at another of the company's works.
