§ Mr. KELLYasked the Minister of Health whether he can now state the result of his communication with the local authority of Cobham, Surrey, regarding the inadequate number of houses built and the rents charged for those which have been completed?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI have carefully considered the representations which have been made to me in regard to the matter referred to by the hon. Member. I understand that the Rural District Council of Epsom have already provided 84 houses in the Parish of Cobham, and it does not appear to me that there are sufficient grounds for declaring that the local authority have failed in their duty in this respect. The determination of the rents which should be charged for the houses is a matter for the local authority.
