HC Deb 05 April 1927 vol 204 c1906W
Captain GARRO-JONES

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of Departments employing mixed staffs which have considered the question of compiling a common seniority list, in accordance with the recommendations of the Treasury Committee appointed in June, 1922, to examine and report on the application of the principle of common seniority lists for men and women; in which Departments has such a list been made operative; and in which Departments has an adverse decision been reached?

Mr. McNEILL

In accordance with the recommendations of the Majority Report of the Committee appointed to examine and report on the application of the principle of common seniority lists for men and women, consideration has been given to this question by Departments. Detailed and complete information as to the conclusions arrived at by them on this matter is not immediately available, but I understand that in a number of cases a decision has been deferred for the present.
