asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the total amount of War debt due to Great Britain from Estonia; and what amount has been paid to the last convenient date?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The debts due by Estonia to this country are (1) a relief debt of £251,000 and (2) a debt for supplies furnished during the Estonian War of Independence which amounts to £917,200. Estonia, in accordance with the terms agreed upon in regard to these debts, has to date repaid £3,859 18s. 3d. of the capital of the relief debt and also interest at 6 per cent. to 31st December, 1924, and at 5 per cent. thereafter on the capital outstanding, and has paid £40,000 in respect of the debt for supplies.
