HC Deb 09 November 1926 vol 199 c891W
Sir W. de FRECE

asked the Secretary for Mines the amount of coal now available for household consumption; whether he is satisfied that the amount permitted cannot be increased; and the average price of such coal sold both by the, ton and by the cwt?

Colonel LANE FOX

It is estimated that 500,000 tons a week are required to meet the present ration, and I am quite satisfied that it cannot yet be increased. I cannot say what is the average price throughout the country; in Central London the price is 4s. 3d. a cwt.
