HC Deb 04 March 1926 vol 192 c1634W
Mr. BARR

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that an Employment Exchange inspector, at a meeting at the Helensburgh Employment Exchange, advised the unemployed to go to Motherwell, as there was plenty of work there; whether, seeing that the weekly reports from Motherwell and Wishaw show that unemployment there has long been and still is at an exceptionally high figure, he will ascertain the grounds on which this statement was made and take steps to prevent its repetition?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

I am having inquiries made, and will communicate with the hon. Member as soon as possible.
