HC Deb 21 June 1926 vol 197 c45W
Colonel DAY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that troops intended for service in the Soudan pass through Egypt; and will he arrange for the transport of troops by some other route?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

The bon. Member appears to be under a misapprehension. Save in exceptional cases, the practice is to send troops proceeding to the Soudan by sea to Port Soudan, and not take them through Egypt.
